Useful information for visitors

Here you will find useful information for visitors to Happinest, especially if you plan to stay a bit longer 😉

The nearby village of Milina has mini markets, bakeries, butchers and greengrocers. You can find all of these on a side street perpendicular to the main sea road, in front of the concrete pier. You can also often find fishermen at the pier selling their catch at around 9am.

If you need a pharmacy, just stroll along the sea from the concrete pier, keeping the sea on your left, until you come across Apostoli’s pharmacy. He speaks perfect English and is always very helpful.

Milina also offers electric bicycle and scooter rental, inquire directly at: Ikosimo hotel. For boat and kayak rental, check out En Plo the first taverna by the sea as you enter Milina coming from Happinest.

Milina also has a taxi service, the number is: +30 697 453 4171.

If you need a dry cleaners, you’ll find it in the village of Argalasti 20 minutes from Happinest.

Argalasti also has a veterinarian, an excellent hardware store, a supermarket, a quaint but well stocked traditional grocery store, a great butcher, ATM machines, two gas stations, two pharmacies, several cafes on a shady, pleasant square and a street market on Saturday mornings. There is even a hairdresser/barber on the square next to the traditional grocery store and an ELTA post office is just round the corner.

For minor health issues, the Argalasti health center will attend to you round the clock (although you might have to knock on the door after dark). A sleepy faced health professional will always open up 😉 The nearest hospital is in Volos.

If you get a puncture, no worries, you can get it patched up right away at Tzenzerakis Tyre Service along the main road.

On a happier note, you’ll also find Miliea winery in Argalasti where you can purchase their excellent wines directly by the case 🙂
